Audio Technology Work Study (Fall/Winter)

Program dates are flexible depending on accepted applicant’s availability (please specify in letter of intent. NOTE: A break in the work study term in the dates shown above will take place between December 15, 2012 and January 6, 2013.
This work study position provides the opportunity to support the goals of The Banff Centre’s Audio area within Film & Media. The work study will learn the implementation and maintenance of audio systems for music recording, film/digital cinema, and web-based audio applications. He/she she will become familiar with maintaining/ upgrading software and hardware used in audio productions. The successful applicant will be equally involved in ongoing research and testing of new technologies for audio production and research initiatives.
The work study will develop necessary skills to provide technical support and troubleshooting for all equipment and software used in audio productions at The Banff Centre; become familiar with wiring and calibration practices using a variety of test equipment; and, dependent on skill level, would be considered for basic repairs of equipment.
