Enjoy past World Tour programs and favourite festival films with your entire household! Below you'll find answers to your questions about renting programs and bundles, details on how to watch the films, and more. 

Tip: Prices are based per household, make sure to check out our Watch Parties if you want to host a larger group viewing!

Currency: Pricing is in Canadian dollars; single programs are also available in USD.

Each program has a different set of films. (Typically between 6 - 8 films)
You have 3 days to watch your rented program - the watch window begins once you unlock the program

FAQ: How to Watch Banff on Demand Programs

Online Platform Details

The platform can be viewed on a web browser, so you don’t need to download any other software before viewing it.

Do a Test: If you would like to get a feeling for what the viewing experience is like from the web, you can test your device capability.
 
The Banff Mountain Festival App is also available if you prefer to watch on another device.

Purchasing Programs

  • Follow the link to purchase the product you want to buy on Banff on Demand. watch.banffcentre.ca/banffondemand 
  • Create an account if it's your first time using the platform after and complete the transaction on the purchase page
  • You’ll now see ‘Unlock Now’ on the program, and you can start viewing

 

The Fine Print:
Programs are non-refundable. 
Pricing is in Canadian dollars. If you make a purchase using a credit card with a different currency, the exchange rate will be displayed on your credit card transaction. 
All Canadian taxes are included in the price. 
Programs are subject to change.

Viewing Your Content

  • All of the products you’ve purchased will be available to see on the platform
  • You can also find all of your purchases in your account.
  • You can watch the programs/screenings as many times as you like within the viewing period.
    Individual World Tour Programs = 3 Days, Bundle = 3 days per program (you unlock each program separately)
  • Time starts ticking once you unlock (start watching)!

What platform is being used for online films?

We’ve created a video-on-demand platform where you can stream festival and world tour content. At different times of the year, there will be different content on this platform. 

The platform can be viewed on a web browser, so you don’t need to download any other software before viewing it. If you’d like to get a feeling for what the viewing experience is like from the web, you can check your device compatibility.
 
We have a number of apps available - iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Roku TV and Apple TV. Learn more about the Banff Mountain Festival app.

Apps are not required for any viewing - any purchase can be watched directly from your web browser; however, when watching on other devices, they will improve your viewing experience.

Do I need an account to access the platform?

Yes - You will be prompted to create an account when you make a purchase. This will save your purchase history and make it easy for you to see all of the content available for you.

Please note that because we changed platforms in June 2022, you will need to create a new account from the one you used in 2021. You will be prompted to login/create an account when you make your first purchase on the new platform.

I tried logging in with my existing online platform account but it's not working.

I tried logging in with my existing Banff Centre Box Office account but it won’t work for me. 

Our platform is not connected to the Banff Centre Box Office.

You’ll need to create a new account for our platform - you will be prompted to create an account when you make your first purchase on our online platform. 

How can I watch content on the platform?

You can watch via the website, or if you’d prefer to watch on a different device, please download the "Banff Mountain Festival" app from the app store. Learn more about the Banff Mountain Festival app.

Content can only be purchased through the website, and then you can log into your account and watch via the apps.

How long will I have to watch Banff on Demand content?

Each film program has a viewing period of 3 days.

  • The clock starts ticking when you hit ‘unlock now’ for the first time.

Will I be able to download content?

No, the content will only be available to stream through the platform. 

I want to buy a Gift. I see there’s an option for gifting on the checkout page, how does that work?

If you want to send a Banff On Demand program to someone special, you can send them a gift.

If you’re on the screening page for a single program:

When the program is available to rent, underneath ‘Unlock now’ is the ‘give as a gift’ button. You’ll enter their details and complete the transaction. You need to be located in a country where the program is available in order to gift (i.e. if the program is only available in Canada or the US, you would also need to be located in Canada or the US in order to complete the purchase, as the system registers your location at the time of purchase).

Are the programs available in all countries?

We have tour hosts around the world who are continuing to offer their own programs, whether virtually or in-person, so these programs are not available everywhere.

Banff on Demand film programs are available in Canada, the US and select countries for certain programs.

What currency will rentals be in?

Banff on Demand content will be priced in Canadian dollars and US dollars.

How many different devices can I watch on?

Banff on Demand is intended for single-household access. More than one device can be logged in at once and be watching different content simultaneously.

I didn't receive any email confirmation following my purchase.

If you aren't noticing confirmation emails/notifications coming to your inbox from Banff on Demand please ensure you are checking the spam and junk folders.

Is there an App? Can I watch the films on my mobile/tablet device?

Yes! We have a number of apps available. Visit our Mountain Festival App page for more information!

Can I buy a ticket and show these films at a public venue?

No, this event is for at-home use only for individuals, families or small gatherings.

The purchase of rental is for private purposes only and does not include a commercial license.
