Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and Phil Ponting, chair of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards Foundation invite you to attend the 2017 Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Award Ceremony.
Banff Centre is honoured to present the brunch event which will be hosted by Shelagh Rogers, CBC Radio host and Chancellor of the University of Victoria, to celebrate this year’s distinguished recipients:
• Composer John Estacio (Edmonton)
• Visual Artist Alex Janvier (Cold Lake)
• Poet and Writer Alice Major (Edmonton)
The awards patron, Her Honour, the Honourable Lois E. Mitchell, CM, AOE, LLD, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, will present the awards.
The recipients will each receive a handcrafted medal, a $30,000 award, and a two-week residency at Banff Centre’s Leighton Artists Studios.
Stay at Banff Centre from $125 per night (plus facility fee and applicable taxes) when booking with the brunch.
