Experience a night at the Banff Park Museum! Be cozy and warm inside the museum after-hours in this special winter edition of Drawn to Nature. Participants ages 14+ of all levels of experience are invited to sketch and draw in this beginner-level drawing class. Join esteemed Teaching Artist in Residence Janice Tanton in this free class to explore different drawing and mark-making techniques as we draw and sketch the specimens in the museum. From bison to bees, participants will be using various drawing materials and supplies - all materials provided. Explore specimens, history, and basic drawing techniques in this facilitated class. All activities encourage artistic exploration and conversation about the ways in which we interact with the cultural, natural, and geological landscapes of Banff National Park, with themes of Truth & Reconciliation woven throughout.

In this edition of Drawn to Nature, participants will be encouraged to make their own final works which will be (voluntarily) exhibited on display in the week of the exhibition at the Banff Public Library, (beginning February 1, 2020 running to February 28th, 2020). No talent required, all creative-abilities welcome!

We thank all participants for adhering to our 14+ age specification.

Banff Centre wishes to thank its generous partners in this series: Banff Park Museum, Parks Canada, Cave and Basin National Historic Site, The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, the Town of Banff and Banff Public Library.
