In 1952, Banff Centre introduced a special autumn short course in landscape painting from August 18 to September 13. It was led by H.G. Glyde, J.B. Taylor, and Walter J. Phillips in response to participant demand to incorporate Bow Valley’s fall foliage into their work.
Taken from The Banff School of Fine Arts 1952 program calendar, “This is an ideal time in the Canadian Rockies. Colour is at its best, and accommodation is plentiful.”
