Cardinal Studio

The Cardinal Studio in the Leighton Artist Studios

Named after its architect, Douglas Cardinal of Blackfoot and Metis ancestry, the design for this studio takes its cues from nature, being in the form of a nautilus shell.

Originally designed for composers, this studio is also comfortable for writers.  Thick cedar-log walls shut out external noise, while large windows to the south provide natural light and forest views. Its introverted design ensures privacy. This studio contains a digital piano.
