This production residency was created by the French Embassy of Canada, The Banff Centre and the Institut Français, in partnership with On Screen Manitoba and Canada Media Fund. The goal is to nourish and support any French-Canadian collaboration in the creation of new content. The second edition of Emergence Lab, held at The Banff Centre in 2015 was dedicated to new forms of writing for digital platforms.
Two transmedia projects were chosen: Sean Michaels ( Canada - The Seers Catalogue) and Elisabeth Rull (France - Les Mémoires Courtes). Together they worked with a team of six French and Canadian artists and highly skilled technicians to advance their projects, supported by a group of six mentors: Antonin Lhôte (France Télévisions), Sue Mackay (Corus Entertainment), Morgan Bouchet (Orange/Transmedialab), David Dufresne (Auteur et réalisateur interactif), Jérôme Hellio (Consultant, ex Radio-Canada), and Josette Normandeau (Idéacom).
