We are delighted to offer the following services for Banff Centre Participants, Artists, Faculty and Staff:
The Library and Archives is closed for the general public
The Paul D. Fleck Library and Archives play a vital role in meeting the educational and professional needs of artists, leaders, and researchers from Canada and around the world who come to Banff Centre each year. The Library houses an exceptional and diverse collection, with a particular emphasis on Canadian arts, crafts, indigenous studies, literature, and mountain culture. This collection includes books, periodicals, music scores, audio and video recordings, digital materials, and artists' books. In parallel, the Archives safeguards Banff Centre's extraordinary artistic legacy, functioning as the Centre's institutional memory and a valuable resource for researching its history and activities.
Paul D. Fleck (1934-1992)
I want to formally tell you...how much I appreciate you and the service you provide. You...set the bar much higher than it's ever been regarding what a librarian can be, and perhaps ought to be.
Artist/Participant, 2024
The resource librarians were so helpful and made a real contribution to my work at my residency.
