Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison are the first to successfully ski 7,000 vertical feet from the summit of 8516m Lhotse in the Nepal Himalaya, one of the most prized high-altitude lines in the world.
The program will begin with an online screening of the film The North Face Presents: Lhotse and includes presentations and video clips by both Hilaree and Jim and updates from the Sherpa who were part of the expedition team.
Celebrated outdoor journalist James Edward Mills will conduct an interview to finish the program.

Combining a passion for exploration, mountain adventures and skiing, Hilaree Nelson has travelled to some of the most exotic mountain ranges on earth. Her expedition career has led her to many ‘firsts” in the world of ski mountaineering including a single push link up of two 8000m peaks (Everest and Lhotse) and a first ski descent of Lhotse as well. In addition to her athletic success, Hilaree is also the mom of two wild boys, a passionate environmental activist and the North Face Team Captain.

Jim Morrison cemented his reputation as one of the greatest ski mountaineers of all time with a 2018 first descent of the Lhotse Couloir — one of the last remaining premiere high-altitude ski lines in the world. For decades before that landmark achievement though, Morrison was amassing a lifetime of skiing experience around the globe. Mills, James
James Edward Mills is a 2014 Fellow of the Mountain & Wilderness Writing Program of the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada and the 2016 recipient of the Paul K. Petzoldt Award For Environmental Education. As a freelance journalist and an independent media producer in a career that spans more than 20 years he specializes in sharing stories about outdoor recreation, environmental conservation, acts of charitable giving and practices of sustainable living. He has worked in the outdoor industry since 1989 as a guide, outfitter, independent sales representative, writer, and photographer. He is the author of The Adventure Gap: Changing the Face of the Outdoors and the co-writer/co-producer of the documentary film An American Ascent.
James is a contributor to several outdoor-focused print and online publications such as National Geographic Adventure, Rock & Ice, Alpinist, SUP, Elevation Outdoors, Women’s Adventure, the Clymb, Park Advocate, High Country News, Appalachia Journal, The Guardian, Outside Magazine and Land & People. For his work sharing the story of Buffalo Soldiers and their service in the creation of the National Park Service James was named a 2016 Yosemite National Park Centennial Ambassador.
