The Painter House at Leighton Artist Studios

The Painter House, named after its architect, Walter Painter, is a converted two-storey character home. It provides space for a group of up to 8 artists working collaboratively (ensembles, collectives, inter-disciplinary groups) to develop scores, scripts, plays, visual art projects that do not require clean-up or wet space.

The main floor features multiple areas with meeting tables and work desks and a kitchen with coffee and tea-making facilities. The sitting room features a grand piano and opens out to a large, private wraparound deck area. The upper floor features one large room and one smaller room which could serve as break out rooms or private work spaces.
 

The Painter House amenities include:
Seven desks in five rooms
Kawai grand piano (model KG-2C, 5’10”) with adjustable piano bench
Music stands
Rolling media cart with 50” HD screen, speakers, DVD player, cabling etc
Large folding table
Living room with lounge space
Dining room with ample seating
Kitchenette with sink, microwave, bar fridge, kettle and coffee-maker
Computer monitor and keyboard, bluetooth bookshelf speakers, and wireless printer
