Join Elisabeth Belliveau, artist, author, and faculty for the Visual Arts: Banff Artist in Residence (BAiR) – Summer 2024 program for an afternoon talk.
Belliveau’s art practice is rooted in the genre of still life and explores close watching through a feminist lens. Her moving image works include animation, film, lenticular prints, and mobiles, alongside traditional and digital forms of sculpture.
Originally from Antigonish, NS, Belliveau holds a BFA from AU Arts and an MFA from Concordia University and is currently based in Treaty Six, Amiskwacîwâskahikan, Edmonton AB, where she is an Associate Professor and Chair of Studio Arts at MacEwan University.
Belliveau’s recent exhibitions include BEND at the Prince Takamado Gallery - Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Gallery 44 Toronto and the Louise et Reuben Cohen Gallery at University of Moncton and screenings at the Irish Film Institute, Studio 44 Stockholm, and Grunt Gallery, Vancouver, BC.
